Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

GENERAL FAQs

Is Shewlace a lace brand or just a website that sells other lace brands?

Shewlace is a proprietary brand. That means we are the manufacturer of our laces and do not resell other brands of laces.

We provide our customers the highest quality and widest selection.  As we manufacture our own laces, we have complete control of the entire process, which allows us to deliver high-quality superior laces which are not available elsewhere!

What differentiates Shewlace laces from the rest? After all, aren’t shoelaces pretty much all the same?

All shoelaces AREN’T created equally! Every aspect of our laces differ from the rest of those on the market.  All styles of our laces are ALL made of the highest quality and most durable threads.  This means that our laces are long-lasting, the material and color do not fade or wear out over time, and they maintain a sturdy know, tie after tie.

Our laces are popular because of their feel.  Other laces, including ones that are laced on a newly purchased shoe are imported and rough. As a result of poor braiding/weaving over a short period of time the threads become loose, rendering them useless

As we manufacture our laces in the USA and have an extensive manufacturing process, our laces are smooth to the touch while being extremely durable, a combination differentiating us from the rest.

Additionally, our manufacturing process is rigorous; all cuts are precise, aglets (tips) are reinforced, and each lace goes through 3 separate quality inspections to ensure the laces you receive are perfect and flawless!

What is the difference between an Eyelet and an Aglet?

Eyelets are the holes in a shoe where you insert the lace in order to lace a shoe.

Aglets are the tips at the end of a shoelace which are usually plastic or metal.

How do I know what length lace I should order?

There is no universal method to determine the length of lace needed.  Factors such as the style, width and eyelet placement of shoes will all affect the proper length needed. Additionally, an individual’s preference of how short or long they like the ends of the laces for tying to be will also play a factor.

Our Lace Chart is a great way to assist you in determining the length you need.  However please keep in mind that this is merely a guide to be used as a reference.

The best way to determine the correct length needed is to measure your old laces (if available) or by taking yarn/thread, lace you shoe, and measure it.  When doing so, remember to leave ample length to tie your lace.

I placed an order.  Now what?

Once your order is placed it is sent to our shipping department.  Fresh laces are pulled and sent over to Quality Control, where each single lace will undergo a 3-Part Quality Control Process to ensure that each lace we send it nothing less than flawless.

Once your laces pass the 3 checks, they are carefully packed and ready to be sent.  When your order is shipped, you will receive an email detailing your order along with a confirmation number which you may use to track your order.

My order should have been here by now.  What's taking so long?

The Shewlace Team is committed to providing not only the best shoelaces, we also strive to make sure our customer service is top-notch.  Once an order is placed, the action begins!  We strive to ensure that orders are sent as fast as possible.

On occasion, orders sent may be delayed by the shipping carrier for a number of reasons. We do our best to monitor orders to ensure they en route to you.  If we notice that there is a delay in your order, our Team will notify you as soon as possible.

My tracking shows delivered, but I have not received my package. What should I do?

Shewlace takes mail fraud extremely seriously and we have taken several measures such as installing High Definition security cameras above each packing station, working with local Police Departments, and the Fraud Investigation Division  of the United States Postal Service, to prevent it as much as possible.

If USPS tracking indicates that your package has been delivered but you have not received it, please contact your local Post Office and file a claim.  You can find the contact information for your local Post Office by going to www.usps.com or by calling 1-800-ASK-USPS® (1-800-275-8777).

Furthermore, if you suspect fraud and/or theft of mail, please contact your local Police Department to notify them of your concerns, as any fraud/theft of mail is a Felony crime.

I received my package but some of my order is missing.  What should I do?

As we work diligently to ensure order accuracy, in rare cases due to both human and technological error, there may be discrepancies.  Upon noticing an error, please contact our Customer Service team at cs@shewlace.com to report this error.

Fortunately, at Shewlace we have taken initiative and have HD Security Systems installed throughout our facilities.  Upon receiving a claim of an error, we will review the footage at the exact date and time of the packing station where your order was packed and will be able to distinguish exactly what was placed prior to sealing your shipment.  This not only allows us to ensure that we get any missing parts of your order to you as fast as possible, but also allows us to always improve on our services.

If you have a question and/or concern not addressed above, please contact us and a Shewlace team member will assist you.
